Perla Pizzeria: Positively Pizza

I love Romanian pizza! How many times do I have to say it? It's all the yummy-ness of real Italian pizza (I should know), but for a fraction of the price. Yet another Romanian pizzeria that gets it right is Perla, which is located just outside the old citadel in Piata Hermann Oberth. They have a wide menu of thin-crust pizzas and pastas; in fact, the menu was enticing enough to make it my stop for dinner one day and lunch the next! Service was quick and friendly, though I did find that with the low tents on the patio any cigarette smoke really hung over my table. Regardless, it's a great place for Italian fare when you're in Sighisoara.

Cafe International & Family Centre: Little Bites of International Flavour

This is a little cafe (which I'm assuming is "not for profit"), located inside a community services building on the main square in Sighisoara. They had a variety of baked goods such as American-style cookies and muffins, as well as hot dishes such as grilled sandwiches and quiche. I had a sandwich made with a local vegetarian spread (a bit like a tapenade or chutney); it was very good. The servers are multi-lingual and also provide tourist information to customers and non-customers alike; there is an internet point inside as well (free with purchase, so some rude people will buy a coffee and sit for two hours). The organization running this cafe provides a lot of support to the local community, so I would highly encourage you to give them a few of your tourist dollars while you're in town!
