Towers (and Not Much Else) | Monument in Piazza Fratelli Cairoli |
I spent a winter day in Asti. The sun was shining, people were out for a stroll, and all the tourist attractions and museums were closed! There was nothing to do except walk back and forth along Corso Alfieri and imagine the city at its height during the annual Palio (horse race). It is home to fantastic (closed) churches and lots of medieval towers... definitely worth a visit if you plan on spending a lot of time in the Piemonte area, but not a destination in itself. |

nickandchris Fri Oct 5, 2007 17:09 UTC We ended up in Asti on a dreadful campsite, under a motorway viaduct, when we were travelling to Greece in the motorhome. And it was expensive...... | JLBG Fri Dec 1, 2006 09:55 UTC It seems that you visited one half of the city and that I visited the other half! I suppose that viewing both our pages might give a good account of the whole city, haha! |
