PALEMBANG, its capital city and gateway to the province, lies right on the banks of the great Musi river. The economic activities and The government administration lied at the North side of Musi river, where from the ancient times of Sriwijaya Kingdom, the similar activities also centered on this site. Now it was site of Government Building, Benteng Kuto Besak, Shopping Mall, Boom BARU River Port, Museum and the Gateway enter the Province, Sultan BADARUDDIN AIRPORT


KUTO is Palembang lingo, means KOTA in Indonesia, or CITY in english, BESAK means BIG, and BENTENG means FORTREES, so BENTENG KUTO BESAK means THE FORT OF A BIG CITY. Compare to the other Province, South Sumatra with its History, surely most developed than the others, with so many big Rivers Running from corner to corner of the region, that is why Marine life is undoubtedly become their daily life, daily activities and influencing the Philosophy of the People.


SOUTH SUMATRA is a Province situated at the Southern Parts of Sumatra Island. In Indonesia History, long long Ago, it was a place of SRIWIJAYA KINGDOM, a great Maritime Kingdom not only in Indonesia, but also in the Asia Region. The area of more then 99,000 Square Kilometers with so many big and small River Running over the land. Musi and Ogan are the big rivers which play an important role in daily activities of The Peoples since the Sriwijaya Kingdom Era until Nowadays.
