Great pictures and very interesting information. That walk sounds wonderful.
Nice tips and photos! Best from New Jersey, Bill
very lucky and blessed i am! ive been to Neuscwenstein 3 times - twice in lovely summer and then in even more romantic winter - very lucky with lots of snow around and extra beautiful!! but yes its lovely inside and out anytime!no he wasnt mad at all!!
The train allows you to visit the town and not just the Castles, indeed. And the ride down is great - whether you are coming from Munich or Augsburg ;-]
I lived in Munich for 5-years but never visited Fussen during that time. I visited Neu Schwantstein when I was a kid, and I have been to his other castle on Cheimsee several times. Oh well, I'm not much of a tourist. Bill
The "Dove Castle" is actually more famous for swans. King Ludwig had a special fondness for swans. ('schwan' means 'swan' in German)
indeed a fairy-tale place!
Beautiful views...a great intro photo!!
