Much as I enjoyed exploring Salzburg on foot, there are places that can be reached by taking the public transpo.

Better get the Salzburg card. It gives access to most forms of transport like bus, tram, and even for a leisurely boat ride. As a bonus, you can visit at most 3 museums for free, no need to pay entrance fees.
