Spectacular Niagara Falls One of the most spectacular sights in North America, Niagara Falls is a destination that I can recommend be added to any Canadian holiday. Of course the "Falls" are the main attraction, and there are a number of exciting things to do here, but there are a multitude of things to keep you occupied for a visit of around a week. Adventure at the falls...Ride the Maid of the Mist, ride the Spanish Aero Car, Journey behind the falls through the labrinth of tunnels and viewing portals behind the waterfall or take a walking tour through the gorge. There is a public 18 hole golf course, a 45 hole golf complex and the Oak Hall par 3 course together with excellent nature walks, the butterfly conservatory, the floral clock, Queen Victoria Park, bridges to cross, numerous restaurants and shops! |

| | The Maid of the mist gets a little wet! This is a picture of my wife, Anne, with Bill and Shirley, while in the spray of the falls on the Maid of the Mist. Bill and Shirley are locals, who we had never met before we stood on Canadian soil. We met them on the internet through a friend of hours back home in Australia. We owe a lot to this wounderful couple who opened there home to us for 5 days, showed us the local area, took us to Niagara falls for the day as well as a town fair with the largest pumpkins I have ever seen in my life, soap box derbys.. The total experience. Thanks a lot guys! |
A cruise on the great lakes. On our first day in Canada we drove from Toronto airport to Waterdown, Bill and Shirleys' home town. This was the first time we had met and Anne & I could not believe the hospitality nor the fantastic relaxing day they had organised cruising the great lakes on their boat. A fantastic day was had that culminated in the boatshed restaurant at a marina..somewhere!!! | | |
