"SAPA - beautiful land with smiles..." Sapa by cal6060

Sapa is located in Northwest of Vietnam, border of China's Yunnan Highlands. This is a beautiful land living with several Vietnam minorities including H'mong, Dao (Yao), Giay, Pho Lu, and Tay. These minorities mostly live a simple agricultural lifestyles. Since the development of tourists industry in their villages in 1993, women and children have been selling handicrafts or as a tour guide to tourists.

On 21/1/2007, we took a train at 20:30 at Hanoi Train Station to Lao Cai. We arrived at Lao Chai at 6:30am on 22/1/2007,and a bus was waiting for us to continue our journey to SAPA. We arrived at SAPA at 7:30am, We checked in our hotel ,and had breakfast in the hotel before our first SAPA tracking.

Our first tracking included Ylinh Ho & Lao Chai Villaga, Muong Hoa stream, Ta Van Village and Giang Ta Chai.

On 23/1/2011, we went Cat Cat Village, and continued walking to Cat Cat waterfall. From Cat Cat waterfall, we passed by Ham Rong mountain, and arrived at Cat Cat tourist cafe. We shopped around SAPA town area and took the night train back to Hanoi.

Note: Our whole journey is through Vega-Travel (Sapa Trekking 2days/3nights). If you want to travel in an easy way, you can book the tour package. It is a personal tour, not a group tour. Inexpensive.

After this experience, I learn that there will be no problem to travel without a tour package. You can book train ticket at Hanoi Train Station, and book a hotel online, or walk-in.
