"Back in the Philippines - San Juan Batangas" Province of Batangas by Alikatt

Went for a family gathering in San Juan, Batangas. San Juan, Batangas is about 180 kilometers south of Manila. It is the easternmost town of Batangas, next to Quezon province. It is on the coast thus there are many stretches of sandy beach to be enjoyed. One of them is La Luz in Hugom, about 25 minutes drive from the town proper of San Juan.

what would I do without these cabanas?

This are the rows of cabanas by the beach at La Luz. It is great for hot days and cool evenings. You can even have your massage in here. These ones at La Luz has speakers and lights that one can turn on or off, depending on the mood...the flowing curtains add an extra oomph. They can be drawn back with strings.

hey can I join you up there guys?

When I was growing up there was this song my nanny Yolly sang to me all the time about bahay kubo surrounded by vegetable plants. This one doesn't have the lush garden but it sure is neat!

• Pros:good snorkelling spot, nice beach, good food, price is reasonable, friendly staff
• Cons:no divemaster (for my sis) part of the road is unpaved
• In a nutshell:a good beach destination accessible by land from Manila
