Shopper's delight 2004 Shanghai Tang is a destination for me at Pedder Building in Central Hong Kong. This upscale Chinese luxe goods boutique offers silk , cashmere and velvet clothes and pajamas; hand-embroidered, bejewelled handbags; accessories for the home, umbrellas, etc. I had to restrain myself since the prices are quite steep. I managed to score a very nice rust jacket with black thread embroidery and black silken sleeves. I feel ike a modern empress when I pair it with my Shanghai Tang denim jeans! |
Can't get enough of Shanghai Tang I was in Hong Kong again in late Dec.2005 and actually ushered in the new year there with two very good friends. My brother, sister-in-law and their two cute boys also live there. It was nice to be back. The weather could have been sunnier and less humid though. All in all, I find it a very convenient city to be traveling in since the MTR and various other rain links are available, clean and efficient. Had "yum cha" at Maxim's at the Hong Kong's municipal building by the Star Ferry. Yummy treats consisted of steamed seafood and vegetable dumplings, garlic sauteed greens, Chinese fried rice and other specialties all savored while viewing the famous Hong Hong harbor or in as they spell it over there, harbour. Lunch was followed by shopping in Shanghai Tang. I scored two wool tops and lots of gift goodies for loved ones. I also had tea in their lounge. |
