I stayed at the North end which is quieter and prettier (in my opinion). Firdays is here. So is Pearl of the Pacific (where I stayed) which is next door to Waling Waling. Nami is up on the hill and rocks. The white beach is still white (according to my sister who visited for the 5th time, it was much whiter back in 1990) and the sand is really really fine. Awesome!
My sister V came here to dive at Yapak. She says the water wasn't so clear at nearly 30 meters. I happily shopped at D'Mall of Bora while she was down under. We watched the spectacular sunset from the Pearl of the Pacific.
Young boys and girls build awesome turreted casles that they light up at night for everyone's enjoyment at the beach. The waves that come in at high tide each night wipe them away so they have to be rebuilt the next evening. This must be why they have mastered their craft. Amazing indeed!
- Pros:beautiful island, friendly people
- Cons:a super typhoon "Yoyong" hit Manila which affected flights out of the island
- In a nutshell:idyllic island retreat or party place depending on your preference

A perfect relaxed vacation place. White beaches :) We got them too, but the ocean is freezing up north.
