Interesting fishing port

Concarneau is a thriving fishing port,,bringing in tunny and sardines, which are canned in the nearby factories.
We watched them being off-loaded from the ships.I had no idea, then, that tuna were so large! They were being swung over onto the portside on huge cranes. The kids couldn't believe their eyes-they were bigger than them, and us!
The Ville Close is the attractive historic area of the town,a fortified small town, dating from 14th century. It's a maze of little lanes, spoilt a bit by the many touristy shops.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Must visit Ville Close for its historic interest
  • Cons:Try to avoid the 'crafty' shops
  • In a nutshell:Must go to Concarneau!
