Hey-I'm now a grandmother!! My step daughter has a bouncing boy- to be named Oliver. He was born last November 2007. and weighed in at 6lbs 5ozs.he's now 18 months old. Lucky boy will have 3 grannies, his natural one and 2 steps! He'll get lots of pressies, as does his Mum, as her birthday is Christmas Day! She insisted- very early on- that separate presents were required:-) |
| | I have to admit I'm a 'tourist' rather than a 'traveller', wishing that work didn't have to interfere with holiday times! Over the years I've visited the former Yugoslavia several times as well as the Greek Islands.Latterly I've become a 'francophile' having visited many areas of France and loving it.I've 'covered' most areas except the east.I've got stuck in Languedoc now, staying in Vias several times and more recently discovering the delights of Sete, near Montpellier and Beziers. The area remains unspoilt.,thankfully,by rampant tourism. One can experience real French life here, although the Languedoc accent is difficult to get attuned to!Restaurant and cafe life is very relaxed and still relatively cheap, providing you don't assist in the promotion of Coke & Pepsi, and drink what the locals drink! Hotels are so reasonably priced you tend to think they've made a mistake in their charging!Last year myself and 2 sons stayed in a lovely, friendly hotel for 45 euros a night (pour les trois!).Amazing! Looking forward to my latest visit there, coming up in 4 weeks. Can't wait to experience that relaxed, slow pace of life, away from the stress of London living. |
More of the boy! I tried in vain to get the baby to look at me, but he was camera shy. More interested in the computer and my son! Even on my lap he followed Ed around the room, with his eyes! Mind you, Ed is 6'7"--so he's quite a sight- for a tiny baby.
| | I want a go now! I think I can do it now, Unc.If only I could reach the keyboard! Big protective hands are uncle's. |
Yet another of Oliver! He's getting rather fed up now- too many flashes. | | | Please stop taking photos! |
|
| | All hands! He's wondering just who this giant is, who's cuddling him! |
My beautiful great- nieces. This matching pair are my sister's grand daughters. They have a wicked sense of humour and do a great impersonation of Catherine Tait!"Am I bovvered?"
This photo- incidentally- won my sister the bronze prize in the Royal Photographic Society's annual competition, last year. Red light at the bottom is my addition.I forgot ,when taking the picture of it on my wall, that the Christmas lights were in the way!! It took me a while to work out what it was-I thought it was a lipstick! Obviously I'm not a member of the RPS!!
| | Lovely Richmond Green in Autumn It's nice and peaceful, away from the busy streets, especially at this time of year, when there aren't many people picnicking! |
