While planning our trip to Finland we decided to spend two days in Tampere. But then, having read in a guide book that Tampere is an industrial city, I wondered whether our choice was right. Luckily, the place turned out to be very nice and interesting. It's true that in the centre you are accompanied all the time by factory chimneys, but mostly these factories have been turned into some cultural centres. But the main asset of Tampere is nature. Yes, the city is beautifully situated between two lakes: Nasijarvi and Pyhajarvi and offers abundant possibilieties for those keen on cycling, walking or on water sports.
