Stockholm is definitely a city where everyone will find something for themselves. It has so much to offer. The art and history lovers will spend long hours in museums, those interested in architecture will admire Gamla Stan and numerous churches, the adventurous type will obviously enjoy hot air ballooning just above the city centre. If you travel with kids you must visit Junibacken which is called the living fairytale house. Both young and more mature are bound to like Skansen and aquariums. If you happen to be tired of the noise, Stockholm has also something for you - the only European national park within the city boundaries. In fact, you are never really far from nature - the city is beautifully situated on 14 islands, surrounded by clean waters, so even in the centre it's possible to have a swim, go fishing or sailing. And at night numerous restaurants, bars and clubs invite you to spend your time and money there. Speaking of money: yes, Stockholm is very expensive. But even budget travellers ( to whom I belong) can find it affordable if they take advantage of such possibilities as Stockholm card or accommodation found in last minute offers. |
