We ate here several times since it was near our hotel, and were never disappointed. It is east of the Colosseo, but far enough away so that it is not overrun with tourists. Nor is it overpriced. A great bottle of Chianti was just 7 euro. The waiters were friendly and courteous. It was a very laid back place to talk and linger over a meal, not too loud or busy.

Favorite Dish: I had the most awesome gnocchi, and I usually don't like gnocchi. It was covered with cheese and baked in a dish until it was hot, gooey, and delicious. My husband enjoyed the prawns, and their porcini mushroom pizza was also great.

as i have been living in rome for some time now, it is hard to find any place that will give you change. but i have been to the capuchin crypts on a number of times when i have had guests in town and everyone has enjoyed it. i recommend it as a must see

Things have changed at Santa Maria della Concezione. Last time I was there the monk had been relplaced by a pleasant lay person. However the contribution was still expected. 1 euro is plenty - get change!

Thanks for the tip on Il Patio. I read it before I left for Rome a few weeks ago and when I got to my studio I found that it was right next door and was very good. We ate there three times. I loved the Gnocci and the Eggplant Parmagian. Thanks!
