The Lake District is one of my favourite parts of England. Its beauty has inspired writers and artists for hundreds of years, and continues to draw walkers, fell runners and day-trippers today. It has some of the best walking country in the UK, and you will find something to suit your preference, be it high ridges or lowland fells. If you do not want to walk, there are lots of pretty towns and villages to explore, and many places of historic interest, such as the homes of Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. |

barryg23 Thu May 10, 2007 08:50 UTC Good tips on the Lake District. We're visiting in a few weeks and planning to climb Scafell Pike and Coniston Old Man. I'm already looking forward to that pint at Wasdale Head. | PaulKirk Wed Jan 10, 2007 19:38 UTC Thanks for the interest. Definately recommend the cycles. Will probably be there at Easter so don't take them all! | bonio Thu Apr 14, 2005 16:30 UTC Good page about some lovely places, thankyou | steventilly Sun Jan 30, 2005 19:48 UTC Some of my favourite places! |
