"Stratford-Upon-Avon" Stratford-upon-Avon by Rachael71

Stratford-Upon-Avon is in the heart of England. Close to the beautiful Cotswolds, it is no more than a couple of hours from London and is often a 'must see' on the itinerary of visitors touring the UK. Shakespeare's birthplace and his grave are in the heart of the town, with his wife's family home is a short bus ride from Stratford. I have to be honest, this is not my favourite spot in the UK - there are more beautiful towns to be found, and at times it feels more like a Shakespeare theme park than anything else. However, if you want to discover more about the great playwright and to perhaps see a performance by one of the greatest theatre companies in the world, it is worth a trip.
