Because Seattle is a port city, full of lakes, bays, and the Pacific ocean; taking a sight-seeing tour by boat is a must. The Argosy (locks) tour is a 2 hour narrated cruise where by you actually go through the lock which seperates the salt water Puget Sound from the fresh water of Lake Union. The process of going through the gates and then being lifted (at rather amazing speeds) is a thrill... go on a sunny day of course. And it's funny how it's like an episode of National Geographic too- we saw seals (they smell BAD), ducks (in the lock(!) trying to squeeze through to the other side) and of course numerous varieties of seabirds. Great photo ops of the city skyline. |
