  • We stayed at the Luxor Hotel on our Vegas adventure. We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Sunday. The hotel was a very fun place to stay until the last night, I'll get to that later. We stayed in the pyramid because we wanted to say we did so. The "inclinator" was fun and our room was pretty large to accommadate for the large slant in the wall. The buffet at the Luxor was good and their pool area was beautiful. There were two or three pools? One morning I woke up early and was treated very nicely by the staff. They gave me vouchers to gamble and I never spent any money of my own there. Now the problem. We were on the fourth floor or somthing, which happened to be directly above their dance club. Our last night there, Saturday, we were up all night to the vibrations from their sound system. I think they closed at about 4:00am? We were there when Alladin was being built and Paris and New York, New York looked like much more fun places to stay. Bellagio if we could afford it. If you have the money to splurge in hotel stay at a nicer hotel. If you want to spend your money gambling and partying, go less on the hotel room because you won't really be in there!

Unique Qualities: The pools were awesome. We loved sitting in the sun and having three pools to choose from to cool off in. We also were impressed by the inclinator, the elevator that goes up the sides of the pyramid. Fun experience.

Red Rock Casino-Resort-Spa: Hot! Amazing new hotel in Las Vegas!

  • Red Rock Resort Spa and Casino is a resort spa and casino owned by Station Casinos Inc. on 70 acres and is located in the Summerlin village of Summerlin Centre in Clark County, Nevada. This off-strip locals casino is located on West Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas at the intersection of Clark County 215.

The resort includes a 198 foot hotel tower with 414 rooms, spa, 94,000 square feet of meeting space, 3,000 slot machines, 62 table games, 16 screen movie theater, a bingo hall, a 3-acre pool area, and 11 restaurants. It has an amazing spa for all hotel guests to use, which includes a sauna, steam room, cold poot, and hot pool for women and men. There is also a private spa pool, although the main pool is large and beautiful where you can be waited on by beautiful hotel staff.

I stayed at this hotel for a girls trip and we had a wonderful time. We did travel to the strip one night (a $45 cab ride), but there was enough in our hotel to keep us busy the other two nights.

Unique Qualities: Let me just say that this hotel is beautiful. The rooms are decorated in leather wall paper, each have a bose sound dock/clock radio where you can plug in your ipod, large screen plasma tv, small plasma tv in the bathroom, beautiful large bathrooms with double sinks, huge tub, etc., very comfortable beds, and clean and modern decor. This hotel pleased all four of us, me from Minneapolis, two girls from laid back San Francisco, and a high strung friend from NYC. I would recommend it to anyone. Just book your room early to get a decent rate!

The spa offers a full menu, plus an adventure spa menu that includes horse back riding in the Red Rock Canyon, rock climbing, an indoor rock climbing wall, hiking tours, fitness classes (we took belly dancing), and the list goes on and on....
