"The Hateg Country" Judetul Hunedoara by Zamolxe

On the course of Mures River, southwest Transilvania, there is Hunedoara region, a space at the crossroads of ancient and long-lasting Romanian countries. Here in this authentic cradle of Romanian etnogenesis, shake hands Hateg country, Jiu River Valley, the lands of Padureni, in a natural and spiritual place of an unusual beaty.

This mountains have always been a space of continuity and resistance, a space of freedom, and a shelter from the hardships of history. Here more than 2000 years ago, Decebal headquartered his army, his fortresses, here he confronted Traian, the Roman emperor.
The strong medieval influnece left us from the noble Romanian families, the foundations of Corvinesti, Candesti at Hunedoara, Colt, Densus, Santamarie Orlea Strei, Rau de Mori, Ostrov, Prislop and Sarmizegetusa-(established by the emperor Traian after the end of the second Dacian War).
