I loved Japan.
Good transportation via the trains and subway.
Most of the younger people spoke a little english which helped when we wanted directions.
We didn't have any hotel reservations upon our arrival. Made reservations through the visitors desk at the airport. They had access to only certain hotels. I'm sure we could have found cheaper places to stay if we made our reservation ealier.
We paid 17,000 yen per night in a Western style hotel near Osaka Station.
21,400 yen per night in Kyoto at a Japanese Style place (Ryokon, sp.?). We slept on the futon (blankets) on the floor. Had a little private toilet and had a shared bath. The shared bath was actually pretty nice with a little hot tub. Sat on a little plastic stool and took a bath. Then soaked in the hot tub. It was great!! Breakfast were included. We really got pampered there. |
