Boat Quay was a fun place to visit at night. The surrounding bldgs were lit up which made it beautiful.
We went there on a Sunday night and it was empty. There are many restuarants along side the river. Restaurant workers worked really hard trying to convince you to have dinner at their restaurant.
We had whole chili crab, seafood fried rice, chopped pepper steak, fried garlic prawns, and 4 beers for 95 singapore dollars (~ $60 US). |
| | Merlion Park Merlion Park is adjacent to Boat Quay. It is a great place to unwind after a long day of touring.
The place is well kept. Tourist along with locals were hanging out relaxing. |
| | China Town China Town is good for shopping. There's a street with lot's of vendors selling music CD's, clothes, wood carvings, souveniers. Near the China Town MRT Station. I cannot recall the street name.
Got music CD's (3 for $10 singapore dollars). These CD's were not originals.... they had a bunch of different songs on them. Tried them when I got home and it worked well.
Also bought a carved wooden dragon (about 12 inches high) for $100 singapore dollars ($60 US).
The moon festival starts in the beggining of September. The lights in the background was set up and turned on for the moon festival (5 Sep). I was told that the moon fesitval last one month. |
