Passed through Dubai on 10 April 2005 and decided to stay downtown in Deira to check the scene there. Took public buses - cheaper than taxis! -- and got to see some slums of the 'guest workers' from India, Bangledesh, Philipinnes, etc. Very interesting. There is not all glitter and gold in Dubai.
I go through Dubai just about everytime I leave Afghanistan and head West, so I will try to build up a nice page with a lot of info as the next year moves on. So far, I think the city is bit on the bland side but there are many activities to do: from ice skating, to shopping, to desert safaris. I haven't done all these activites, yet, but as I do, the rating and info will come |
