Restaurant Name: Kantjil Indonesian Restaurants
The menu at the Kantjil is hard to follow, but well worth the few minutes it takes just trying to work it out!
The waiting staff will explain if necessary, but it is actually more fun to do it yourself. It gets the tastebuds going just reading their descriptions!
There is a great lively feel to this place - staff are fun and the ambience of the whole place makes for a great evening! Great amateur portraits/paintings on the wall too!
Favorite Dish: We had the set meal called Batavia. It was more than enough for 2! The wine was a reasonable price too.

Restaurant Name: Meneer Pannekoek – Cafe Restaurant
A restaurant with a theme of Classic films! The walls are adorned with old pictures of film stars from days gone by. Other film related paraphernalia is dotted around the place – making a visit here most interesting as you wait for your food to be delivered.
Favorite Dish: The food was good, hot, plentiful and I would definitely recommend it.
Between us we tried the typical Dutch croquettes (Kroket brood), baguette with garlic butter, and a steak with mushroom sauce. All were delicious and reasonably priced.
What you see in the picture (including beer and coffee) was just 21 Euros!

A'dam - A Must To Do, love your tips, thanks, greets RoyJava | Nemorino Sun Nov 2, 2008 19:51 UTC Interesting offbeat tips on Amsterdam! I had a fine time when I was there a couple years ago (rented a bicycle and rode all around) but I missed the Chinese Temple and the hammock shop, so I'll make a note of them for next time. | Dabs Sat May 3, 2008 21:46 UTC We may have a few hours in Amsterdam on the way back from Prague, it looks like there are some *ahem* interesting things to see and do here ;-) |
