    • Favorite Thing: Most people know Malta as the island without sandy beaches. This is not strictly true - there are several nice sandy beaches, but a lot more that are rocky.

    The good thing is that a lot of these have large flat surfaces, ideal to lay a towel on, and can actually be a lot more practical than the normal practice of getting sand in everything!!

    Handrails and ladders have been conveniently secured at many popular swimming areas, and this makes it so much easier to get in and out of the sea.

     Very useful Tips and great Photos - Malta has been on my list for a long time - ever since a planned visit 26 years ago fell through. Must do something about it...
