Scenery At It's Best!

Referred to by the Venetians as their 'Flower of the East'.

Not sure where we were standing when I took this picture, but it's typical of the dramatic scenery you could expect to find around the coast of Zakynthos.

The sheer drops were breathtaking - but NOT cordoned off, so take care!

Pros and Cons

Pros:The positive attitude towards conservation
Cons:None spring to mind

Compares with the mummified head of St Catherine in a glass box that can be seen in a church in Siena! but the blue waters are lovely in yr photos!

Apparently, it was suspected of gun smuggling and was being chased by the greek navy when it ran aground

Nice photos. You will enjoy Lefkas especially if you hire a car. It's many years since we were on Zakynthos and stayed in Alykes. A beautiful island but too touristy now!
