A good time to visit Nice is during Carnival time - held annually mid February.
A ride on the big wheel in the Town Centre is a great way to get a panoramic view of the surrounding area.
In the pic you can see just a 'small' section of the tiered seating assembled just for the Carnival.

Things To Do: WW2 War Memorial

A short walk away from the Promenade des Anglais will bring you to the harbour area.
A huge memorial in memory of those who died in WW2 can be found here. Cut into the side of a cliff, it is spectacular and truly huge!!
See the sheer size by comparing with the person seen in my photo!

Take a trip on the tourist train starting from the Promenade des Anglais.
As well as an enjoyable and interesting 'round Nice' tour, it will take you up to the top of La Colline du Chateau. Here you will be able to stop a while and marvel at the view across the red rooftops on Nice old town and across to the sea.
Don't worry - the train will take you back down too!

I don't know what this building was - could be someones home, or a hotel? Maybe someone who knows can enlighten me!
