Paris Pratique As we frenchy says it, a shoemaker has always the worst shoes... Meaning that I, as a Parisian, have probably the worst Paris page of all VT!!! Well dear friends, things are going to change (hummm slowly!), and I'll try to give you all the most PRACTICAL infos on my beloved city. So here it goes! As I go through the Paris Forum, I realised that some same questions keeps on poping up, so I thought of centralising here the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, and that cannot fit in the appropriate tip section. |
Some usefull linksWhat's the wheather like?To know exactly how the wheather in France is, have a look on the French national wheather forecast agency, called METEO FRANCE Unfortunately they only have it in french, but it's still understandable! On the first page, you'll have a map of France with the indication of temperature and if it's sunny/cloudy/rainy... The map shows you what is going on at the present, and is updated every 30mn. Above the map, you'll have the four next days written down and next to it three different hours. If you click on the hour of the day that interests you, you'll have the forecast. The forecasts are up to 95% trustworthy.
And now a quick French lesson just in case! Lundi = Monday Mardi = Tuesday Mercredi = Wednesday Jeudi = Thursday Vendredi = Friday Samedi = Saturday Dimanche = Sunday a parisian web site directory? Here is the web site of the city of Paris where you'll find a very useful web site directory for areas such as cultural, transportation, governmental and sport stuff in Paris. Loads of practical infos, that I use on a daily basis myself!!!

Day trips around ParisPROVINS 80km away from Paris (or 1h15mn by train), is the magnificent city of Provins which is known to be one of best preserved medieval cities of France and a real showcase of medieval architecture – military, religious, civil – with 58 protected Historical Monuments! The upper town has been inscribed on the World Heritage List, and has many to offer, to children and grown ups: reenactement of XIIth century battles (with rebuilt medieval war engines), fantastic show of birds of prey (eagles, owls, falcon...), an amazing fortified tower, a fascinating museum where the audioguide will tell you all about fairs and trades in the XIIth and XIIIth century.
If you want to know more about Provins, how to get there, what to do, what to see, where to eat, have a look at my Provins page! |
