A wander around the central shopping area Arrived at about 7am to avoid any traffic on the motorway.
Visiting as we had tickets to watch football match in the evening, so thought would be ideal chance to see what the centre of manchester was like.
The city centre appears to be a typical northern england industrial city quite dirty and grimy in nature and I was a little disappointed.
Compares in no way to the revitalised centre of Birmingham.
Having said that there is obvious attempts at renewal between St Annes, market street and selfridges, probably due to having too after the IRA bomb.
By coincidence the Manchester gay pride march was on, which we saw start of before walking to Manchester city football ground. |
