We chose to stay at the Waterside hotel, on the strand (sea front) at Sliema on Malta, although to be perfectly honest it is the first property in Gzira.
We had a sea view room and the picture shows the view we had over Marsamxett harbour. |
|  | First temple builders in the world ?? Probably view highlight of our trip to malta was for me a visit to the UNESCO sight of the Hypogeum.
This is an underground temple possibly 5600 years old, older then stonehenge, pyramids etc in which they estimate 7000 bodies had been interned. |
| | Very friendly people The most striking thing about Malta is generally the helpfulness, and friendliness of the people.
Whilst in tarxien an old man came upto us and asked us if we were looking for the hypogeum. ( we werent but very nice thought)
Society has its obvious british influences, but also has its own very distinct maltese flavour. |
