SINGAPORE - immaculate and organised

by kph100 - last update: Jun 19, 2006

Interior of Le Meridien from 9th floor

Arrival - Sunday 4th June 2006.

Flew into Changi airport on BA11 at 5.25 pm on time.
Wow what a clean airport, found the taxi rank immediately outside the front entrance and 30 mins later we were booking into the Le Meridien hotel on Orchard Road.
taxi fare with tip was SG$20

Booked into room 958 on the top floor with a view out over Orchard Road which was nice, as was the room.

Out for an hours wander on Orchard before crashing due to lack of sleep.
Boat Quay with CBD

Monday 5th June

Walked this morning from Orchard Road to the civic district, visited the Cathedral which is very plain and had lunch in the hawker stalls in the basement of the Funan IT Mall on North bridge road.
tasty peppered chicken noodles for SG$4.

If you like Cameras or any IT this mall is a must its crammed full of shops selling all IT you can imagine.

Afternoon we walked to Boat Quay, then onto the shopping complexes of Marina Square and Suntec City.

We returned to the hotel to have an early night as we are off to CAMBODIA and Angkor Wat for 3 nights, 2am start to get to airport for 2 hour flight to Siem Reap.

See my pages on SIEM REAP and Angkor.
Little India flower stall

Friday 9th - Wednesday 14th June 2006

After 3 nights in Cambodia we return to Changi airport at 11am and use the MRT from terminal 2 to get into the city. We already had one of the electronic cards to use.

During the next 6 days we toured China town, went shopping for gold in Little India, visiting Mustafas, went to the Zoo and night safari which were excellent, took a cable car to Sentosa, and visited mall after mall in the city.
