lisbon is one of the most beautifully preserved cities in western europe. most countries have been watered down with conveniences for people from other countries. portugal retains its authenticity and richness because it hasn't been overrun with people who need it to be like home. the country has many faces; a rural 3rd world "charm", a bustling city, and a community of neighborhoods that stand still in time. see my tips for things to do. |
| | Faro, Portugal Faro is a great place to go if you have been traveling through major cities and you just want someplace to relax, somewhere quiet and low-key. It is a small fishing community with narrow streets, old architecture, humble dwellings and a few clubs, bars and restaurants. |
| | Nightlife in Faro I didn't have much luck finding a lot to do before 11pm. Most places are closed, and there are a few clubs that are open all night, with dj's and dance floors. Faro is small, and I was really there just to relax, but if you need to go out, you will have to make it a late night. However, we found some fun people rallying for something, and we followed and watched them spin fire. |
