i got poo on my hand walking to the eiffel tower

by rkearns - last update: Sep 17, 2008

i really did get poo on my hand while walking to the eiffel tower. i was walking at night with a friend, our first night in paris. we went to sacre coeur and it was dark. we saw the stunning and romantic nighttime view, more stupendous than i had imagined, and we were off to see the eiffel tower. along the way, my shoe came untied, and when i went to tie it, i was greeted with the stench of fresh poo, and a wet shoelace which left my hand and fingernails corroded with excrement. i found the nearest water source, a garden with a stream, and scrubbed my hands together vigorously. but that did not remove the putrid smell. so we walked along the seine, hoping to find a restaurant or bar, and the first one i saw, i dove into, used the sink, washed my hands about 4 times and left swiftly. (think ace ventura when he realizes lois einhorn is a man). i can say that was the most unexpected and humorous welcome to paris! we continued along to the eiffel tower, and after seeing it, i discovered why the french hate it so much....because when you have high hopes, you get ***!!!

If it's any consolation, let me tell you that the owner of that dog would have been fined 183 Euros -- if they had caught him or her. (Probably her, statistically.) http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/tp/16e3e3/
