Being the little country Sweden is, just 9 millions inhabitants, it’s actually quite amazing that they are so good in sports. The biggest sport in the country is football, thankfully, and after the last year of success the whole country stops every time the nationalteam plays an important qualification-game, or a tournament-match.
Around 15-20 000 swedish supporters followed the nationalteam in Portugal during this summer’s Euro2004.
The Swedish club football is unfortunately not in the same level, but they have been. Hopefully Swedish team in the future once again can win against clubs like Juventus, Manchester United, Milan and Bayern Munich.
At my different Swedish pages you’ll be able to read about all the big clubs in Sweden. I really enjoy to travel around in Sweden watching football, and tries to see as many games, clubs and stadiums as possible.
The best teams right now in Sweden are Malmö FF (current champions), Halmstad BK and IFK Göteborg. Other teams are Djurgården (won the league 2002-2003), Hammarby, Örgryte, AIK and more and more…
- Pros:IFK Göteborg
- Cons:Some rivals I could be without... ;)
- In a nutshell:There are more things to see in Sweden than football, but...

Geez, where are your tips on Linköping? :) Need to find out about 'my' team ;)
I do hope that someday soon enough that IFK Goteborg will recover and go back to first place! I don't know how you remember all of these football statistics, Henrik, but it's truly impressive. Go Sweden! :)
