IFK-supporters celebrating another victory

Göteborg is one of the most wonderful cities in Sweden. It’s famous for it’s harbour, although that isn’t in use that much anymore, and it’s football-clubs.
The city is at it’s best during the summer months, with great weather, friendly people and a lot of party.
In 2000 there were five Göteborg-clubs that were playing in Allsvenskan, the Swedish first division. The biggest of them, and also the most successful in Sweden, is IFK Göteborg, who has won the Uefa Cup twice, and reached the semifinal in the European Cup and quarterfinal in the Champions League.
Next season they, Örgryte and Häcken will be the Göteborg-teams in Allsvenskan, while Gais and Västra Frölunda will play in the second division, “Superettan”.

There are four football stadiums in Göteborg, with the New Ullevi the most famous. For example the Uefa cup final 03/04 was played there.

Being the most successful club in Göteborg it’s natural that IFK Göteborg has most supporters. Around 75 percent of the inhabitants in Göteborg supports IFK, while the rest shares their sympaties for Örgryte, Gais, Häcken and Frölunda.

After eleven years of waiting it was finally time for IFK Göteborg to win the swedish league again 2007! After an impressive end of the season, not losing even one of the last 14 games, they won the league after a last 2-0 victory at home to Trelleborg.

The party afterwards was something special for sure, the whole town had waited for such a long time for this to happen again!

Well, of course not supporters of Gais, Örgryte and Häcken... ;)
