Probably one of the most beautiful cities that has ever played in the Serie A. Como, split in the middle by Lake Como, and with the “tram” taken you up to the top of the surrounding mountains, really gives you everything you need for a calm Sunday afternoon. Football, culture-places, big churches, a lake, views. Unfortunately I’m not the only one who knows this, since the place is crowded with tourists, and the prices are higher than in Monaco… Well, close to anyway… Como was playing a season in Serie A 02/03, my first year in Italy, and I certainly got my parts of the small town. Now they are unfortunately in the third division, relegated two division in two years, and crawling from one economical crisis to another…
News in december 2004 says that the club Como Calcio 1907 has gone bancrupt. The money is gone since long, and they won't exist much longer. However, they are allowed to finish this season (2004/05), but after that nothing is said about the future.
Unbelivable sad news from a classic old club like Como. |
