This is the world as I know it

by Calcio - last update: Jan 9, 2008

MILAN-Brescia 2003/04
Hi, and welcome to a special-page here at VT! I hope all of you will be interested in reading my texts, but I think that it will be an advantage for you if you're really interested in the wonderful sport football. Or soccer as they call my favorite-sport on the other side of the ocean.

Finally some updates again, was just about two years since the last time... Now, will try to be better writing at this page, and put up more cities/clubs as soon as possible!

2005 gave me some new football experiences, with the Champions League-final in Istanbul being the worst, and finally seeing Camp Nou in Barcelona the best. Other trips were Zagreb, Agadir (Morocco) and Skien (Norway).

Now when it's a new year I've started to prepare for the World Cup. Next planned football game abroad is Milan-Roma in May.
Stadium in Hannover, Germany

About this page

Here you won't find much information about churches, restaurants, boatrips or other things. Instead I hope you'll find everything you need to know for your next trip to a football-stadium....

I'm a crazy guy who just loves to visit new countries, cities, and footballstadiums. I have seen football in 14 different countries, and more is hopefully to come.

I'm planning to put up information on all the stadiums I have been to, with "good things to know" about how to get there, how to get the tickets for the game, where to sleep after the game, if you should say hi or just run away from the local supporters, the atmospere at the games and much much more.

As I wrote above, this page is a bit special, but I hope you'll enjoy this too.

If you instead are looking to a page a bit more "normal", just go to Henrik's page and you'll find my other page here at VT, with more "normal" information.

At both pages I'll try to update as much as possible as soon as possible, but since I don't have a "fastweb"-connection anymore it takes years just to upload a picture... But I'll try...

Have a great trip!

How to read this guide...

As this is a bit of a special-guide I thought it might be a good idea to explain how it's works...

Under "must see activities" you'll find information about:
* The club, the history, famous players and good things to know about that club of the town.
* The stadium, what's it called and how many spectators it can take, and where you'll find the best seats for the best price.
* The supporters. The name of the different groups, where they stand in the stadium, if they create a good or a bad atmosphere during the games.

At "Warnings and dangers" you'll find information about:
* The rivality between supporters. Normally it's totally safe to go a game, but in some occasions the rivality between the two groups could be so strong it's dangerous to go to these game. It could be a derby, it could be a match between two teams from two cities that have a strong rivality.
* To light this up a bit I'll also try to write down the other groups that the supporters have a friendship with. As I wrote above, normally it's totally safe to see a football-game!

Under "general tips" you'll find information about:
* Where you can find tickets for the games. At what cost, if it's often sold out, and where you can find tickets in that case.

Under "shopping" I'll write information about where you can buy souvenirs from the club and supporters. Both fake and official stuff.

Under "restaurants" you'll find information about you can eat before the game. It could be a luxury restaurant close to the stadium, or just a wagon that sells you a sandwich for 2,50 euro.

Under "transportation" you'll find information how to find to the stadium. By bus, car, tram or by foot.
