Drive from City to City if you're into that type of travel. Otherwise the trains can get you to the same places,just without the freedom to stop and soak up the scene whenever you'd like,or mingle with local people not so usto people passing through. Don't let yourself get stuck in Amsterdam,it's a world-class,Amazing city, but to truely feel Oud Holland...jump around the country.

IF you do have a car in the Netherlands,Keep an eye out on the motorways for amazing modern transportation infastructure like bridges,barriers and mazes of ramps....sounds like nothing I'm not usto being from the USA,but believe me , the style is remarkably different.
