Costa Blanca

fun for all ages

Levante beach
Benidorm on Spains Costa Blanca is popular with holiday makers from all over Europe and has come a long way since its days as a humble fishing village in the 1960`s.This was my first visit to Benidrom to visit my parents who recently moved there, I was a little worried about its past image of booze fuelled louts but my fears were soon relaxed when i saw it for myself.
Yes there were a few casualties of drink as there are anywhere in the med but this year(2004) the 18-30 brigade have dropped Benidorm for other resorts which should install the old charm that used to be Benidorm.
There are two beaches Levante (new town) and Poniente (Old Town) these are split by a headland. The Old Town is still as Spanish as ever and is popular with Gay tourists. You will find great shops in the Old Town and little restaurants tucked away down little side streets as well as the Burgers, kebabs and fast food chains.
On the whole i was pleasantly surprised with Benidorm and will write a more in depth report after I visit again next month.

Two doors down from Sol Pelicanos is another rip off merchant, advertises 1.48 but that's ONLY the rate if you change more than 3000 euros. 1.23 is the rate otherwise. Beware!

Sanda's On the Indoor Market is the place to ensure you get a good deal. I don't go anywhere other than here.
