If someone wants to visit the Yala National Park, Tissamaharama (Tissa) is the best place to stay. Located near the park, it is full of safari touts who are more than happy to arrange safaris for tourists. Thinks of interest in Tissa are the Tissa Wewa, the Sandagiri Wehera and the Yatala Wehera (but to be honest, if you don’t plan to visit the Park, there is no reason to visit Tissa).
