We spent a week in Barcelona. It’s a party city. We met loads of people and had fun. The city is bursting with fashion, trendy people, food, music and good times.
Few tips –
• I mostly enjoyed two evenings at the Harlem Jazz Club. Very small intimate kinda place. One of the Barcelona’s oldest finest jazz clubs! They have wide variety of gigs - live blues, tango, Brazilian funk, Jazz and fusion etc etc– starting around 10 pm. You will obviously notice the kind of audience it attracts - slightly Boy Georgish. This is my no 1 tip for Barcelona.
• Secondly the weather was so wonderful – coming from cloudy Paris.
• Park Güell"
• The Sagrada Família church, Gaudi's masterpiece
• La Boqueria – massive public market
• Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera
• Taking the metro – buy a weekly ticket.
• Night bus every 20 minutes from the centre to other little towns around.
• Tapas plates are two time of the size you may come across in other countries.
• Over crowded beaches.
• Cheap food.
• Be aware of the language barrier – if you need to deal with locals. We had such tough time replacing the battery of our car which went flat after leaving the cool box plugged for a day. A careless act. Not only we had to buy a new battery & over charged. |
