Baile Atha Cliath | Myself above the pittoresque Howth Harbour |
Baile Atha Cliath...Dublin in gaelic and my hometown between September 2005 and March 2006..
About the city:
Wonderful nightlife Public transport is a joke Living costs are a joke too, just imagine having a salary of about 25-30 000 euros a year and still not be able to have your own home, but having to rent a room to a tenant...that's the reality for LOADS of Irish...and me...except I'm the tenant.
Check back later, I'll put loads of photos and tips on my page! :)
UPDATE 12 November....
OK, I'm starting to like this city now, today I sat in St Stephens green SUNBATHING in November, and walking up Grafton Street among all the people I passed several continents...first there was a chinese woman playing some ethnic instrument, followed by a couple of crazy maoris heading for todays rugby game, then a couple of kids playing irish pop, after that a guy blowing that Aussie horn....the native thingy and finally some musicians playing classical pieces.
UPDATE 27 Jan 2006 Alright, Dublin's OK, but my job sucks badly so I'm trying to figure out a way to go home again. HOWEVER I would be absolutely amazed with Dublin as a vacation city and would like all of you to come here! Feel free to check out some of my travel advice...
29th April OK, I'm back home in Sweden since a month. THank God for high taxes and a working society back home inte the north! |
