Hello, my name is Roger and I just moved back to Karlstad from Dublin where I worked for IBM for seven months.

I would like to welcome you to my humble pages here at VT, and while you are here I would especially like to ask you not only to visit my pages from Thailand (since there are hundreds of them here on VT), but instead spend a couple of minutes finding out about my former homecity Karlstad and about the town where I was born, Oskarshamn. Wish-list for times to come

1. A tour of the USA, to visit my relatives in Minnesota and friends in Michigan and then on to tour the rest of the vast country, to see the Grand Canyon, New York City, The Red Wood Forests, Route 66...

2. A safari in Africa
3. The Transsibirian railway to Beijing
4. Returning to South-east Asia

I'm sure there are many more things to come...

In defense of the tourists

I'm a tourist, not a traveller. I like to get a good nights sleep in a decent bed. I want to see the stuff that interest ME no matter how many have seenit before. I don't get bothered by hearing my own language when strolling the streets of some foreign place.

I don't see why I should avoid the Eiffel Tower, Wat Phra Kaew, Buckingham Palace or the caves of La madeleine just because others have seen it? Hence I am not a traveller...
