I first visited NY in 1998, and have been lucky enough to have gone back twice since, with another stay coming shortly. I read before my first trip that the people were rude, and brusque, but I found them to be very helpful, and yes, they might seem in a hurry...that's because they are! The city is very fast, but is fantastic to get around, full of different cultures, and you are made welcome.I felt very cheated when visiting Chicago, that we didn't "pop in", as I always manage to combine trips to other cities with a stop there. |
