Twice I have been to see this play at the Charles St Playhouse...twice! It is an interactive play in a very small theatre, with as much audience participation as they can muster. I've been with a 12 yr old, who was 16 the next time he saw it, and both times loved it. If I'm ever lucky enough to go back to Boston, you'll find me here again.

We couldn't travel all this way and not try this. Not being a lover of water, I didn't enjoy the boat trip out, although everyone else did, but the experience of seeing these huge creatures was worth it. The trip was a conservation led one and the commentary was brilliant. Seeing these things in theire natural habitat was incredible. They were almost playing with us, blowing whale breath at people hanging over the side. Quite a long trip, but the weather was amazing, and it's something I will never forget.

This ship is beautiful! Apparently it's still classed as comissioned as it comes out once a year to sail down the river, and for Americans, it's a great slice of history. The crew who do the narrated tour are very knowledgeable, extremely smart in their whites, and ours, nicknamed Stretch due to his extreme height, very funny. The stairwells are quite low, mind your heads. Well worth a visit to this side of the river. You can get off the Trolley tour bus right outside the Naval Yard, and do Bunker Hill Monument at the same time.

Boston Common and the Public Gardens are lovely. Even if you just use them to cut through on your way to Cheers, or to the Downtown area, it's a lovely walk. Lots of families, there's a lake with the Swan Boats, and Make Way for The Ducklings ! There's a T stop, right at the corner.
