Visited Washington with my husband and then, 16year old, son. Brilliant 5 days , didn't think I would like it as much as I did. Weather stifling, but that is usual for the summer months I was told. May well visit at a different time of year next to avoid this. Stayed in Dupont Circle, great for restaurants etc.I loved the wide pavements, the low rise buildings, and the open spaces. Can't wait to go back.Very European in style, and so cheap, with almost all the attractions being free to get into. If you're at all interested in Shakespeare, go to the Folger Museum. Free tour, and well worth the visit. |
