Amazing Bangkok!

by Edy8 - last update: Jul 28, 2004

I counted visiting Bangkok seven times over the years but no chance of sharing the wonderful things we did there. This time around, having joined VT, I thought it is good that I share some of the experiences with fellow travellers. Some years back we landed at the old Airport which is now known as Terminal 2. This time round, we travelled by Valuair and this plane allows entry into Bangkok via Terminal 2. A few words on Valuair - the plane A320 appears new and the hostess very friendly and hospitable. I rate them better than the SIA girls only because they have less passengers to serve and they could, if time permits, chat with you. Food, a snack with coffee/tea and water are served free of charge. Should you want to enjoy fresh orange juice, it is only $2!. My feedback is that it is definitely better than AirAsia with more leg room, friendly hostess, snack and drinks on the house!
Okay, on landing at Terminal 2, we walked a short distance to the Immigration counter which cleared us quite fast.. Once out of the clearance area, our guide, nay, our driver was there and he picked up to the hotel - smooth and stress-free.
We had planned to go for the seafood the first night and we proceed by taxi to a seafood restaurant located infront of Amari Watergate. We ordered black pepper crab, scallops, vegetables and pineapple rice. They don't have the pineapple rice that is served on a hollow pineapple. But never mind, the food was good and the score with coconut drinks included was 1000 bahts - a reasonable price by Singapore standards.
