"i see pine trees of green, red roses too" Baguio City by zephyrgurl108

it was where i spent my college years. and i could say, it was the best years of my life.
the bonfires in the pine tree garden beside the baguio convention center, the contemplation of a heart break at dusk in mines view, the fervent prayers for a passing grade in political science at baguio cathedral, buying fresh, crunchy carrots from the baguio market and eating them like bugs bunny would, are all sweet memories of baguio.
i went back to baguio four years after i graduated. i was shocked - traffic now existed and the number of people seemed to have tripled. nonetheless, baguio still had its charms. there is SOMETHING in this city that just makes you go mmm.
old: cool weather, pine trees, strawberries, 'walis' (broom), session road, mines view, wright park, cathedral, etc.
new: SM mall, victory liner bus terminal, john hay mile high (rows of restaurants plus the new "manor" hotel), cool vegetarian restaurants
i recently went to baguio with the bf and he too fell in love with the place.
so much so that we are definitely going back and probably live there in the future.
- Pros:provides an escape from the city
- Cons:slowly becoming like the city we're trying to escape from
- In a nutshell:i have always loved baguio and always will
