| | Hampton Beach Information The cliché, “There is something for everyone,” is one that seems befitting of Hampton Beach. Arcades, numerous clothing stores, more food than you could imagine, including take out or upscale seating type restaurants is all readily available on the boardwalk, which lines the main beach area. The chamber of commerce is located in the heart of the beach, where you can obtain information about the area, acquire brochures pertaining to other activities off the beach and even buy lottery tickets. The Sea Shell Stage is the center of attraction during the summer evenings. Each night from July to September, live bands perform. There is no admission charge, and plenty of seating is available. Everyone’s musical desires are tended to. Polka, big band or classical music lovers get their fix as well as people into rock, jazz, oldies and even disco! Wednesday night at the Sea Shell Stage is reserved for the band, “The Continentals,” who get the crowd all hyped up for the weekly fireworks display. The Casino Ballroom is a top-notch venue from which many popular musical artists and entertainers visit during the summer months. Many comedians perform at the Casino such as Wayne Brady and Dr. John Valby, and even sporting events are held there, such as ESPN Boxing and E.C.W. Wrestling Nighttime is when the clubs start hopping. There are numerous clubs on the beach, which provide live music also. So, if you prefer to get your groove on with a cocktail in your hand, then perhaps Saturdays’, Reggae night at LaBec Rouge is the place for you. Dance and hip hop music are always playing at Guido Murphy’s or one of the many dance clubs located right on Ocean Boulevard. Quiet, romantic dinners at night can be spent atop the Sea Ketch where a solo balladeer will woo you while you eat. The entire beach area is lined with accommodations ranging from luxurious, all-inclusive hotels to cottages in which self-sufficiency is the key. Regardless of the style of accommodation that you choose, there are ample places to stay for everyone’s individual needs. For those who might be interested in learning a little of Hampton Beach’s history, “The Platypus,” an amphibious vehicle provides one hour-long tours which start off on land and take you right into the ocean! You’ll know “Platy” is nearby when you hear her horn, (from every corner of the beach) wailing the tune, “La Cucaracha.” It’s a fun and educational adventure for people of all ages. If deep-sea fishing or a whale watch is your thing, both can be from Al Gauron’s fishing fleet, located at Hampton Harbor just before the bridge leading into Seabrook. But if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground while you fish, just cast your line right off of the Hampton to Seabrook Bridge! There are few places on earth where you can witness beautiful sunrises and breathtaking sunsets all in the same place, but at Hampton Beach you can. Early risers can catch the first glimpses of the sun peeking out over the oceans horizon in glorious shades of red, pink or purple while sitting on a wooden bench, sipping on your morning cup of coffee. At dusk, one only has to look into the many acres of salt march to witness an even more phenomenal display of Mother Nature at her finest. Sunsets over the marsh are indeed grand. The town of Hampton will be performing a multi million-dollar renovation to the Beach area over the next few years. The entire boardwalk area will be rejuvenated, sidewalks enlarged, Sea Shell Stage remodeled and the Chamber of Commerce and restroom area will even get a new look. Soon, Hampton Beach will no longer be a local attraction but will become an international destination. This is great news for visitors and residents, but in the mean time, Hampton Beach has been and will continue to be a great place where friends and family can gather to have a great vacation |
