Koufonisia is my favorite island of the seven Greek Isles I've visited. It's on of the Little Cyclades, about a two hour ferry ride from Naxos. Most of the other vacationers were Greek and there weren't even many of them. There were no more than five people on any of the beaches I went to during my stay. The island is quite small and the furthest beach can be reached in a half hour walk from town. There isn't much to do there besides eat, sleep, and sunbathe, but those are the key ingredients to an enjoyable Greek Isle vacation. I saw one guy windsurfing, but everyone else I saw was either sitting or lying down.
Koufonisia consists of two islands, Ano Koufonisia, which is inhabited, and Kato Koufonisia, which is not, except for the taverna by the dock. Both have uncrowded, soft sand beaches and crystal clear water.
Koufonisia offers a welcomed respite from the summer crowds that flock to most of the other Cyclades, making it much easier to attain total serenity during your Greek Isles vacation.

I'm very glad u apreciate this little island, but it's strange that in August u haven't find italian there! I was there in late september 2003 and everybody tell me was full of italian people, camping gesthouse restaurant...!!!!!
